If your awning has moving parts, pay special attention to these during cleaning to prevent dirt buildup that may affect their function. Talk to your awning installer about whether you will need to use a lubricant to keep motorized parts working properly and prevent rust or corrosion.
Address standing water on your awning as soon as you notice puddles to prevent mold and mildew growth on the fabric. You can use a rectangular broom to gently press on the underside of the awning, increasing the pitch to encourage water to drain. Yes — permitting is handled entirely in-house. We’ve filed hundreds of DOB permits across NYC and understand the requirements for commercial awnings, building canopies, and rooftop structures. This includes navigating co-op boards, building management, and landmark district approvals.
What areas do you serve?
We serve all five NYC boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island) plus Westchester County. For StruXure pergola projects specifically, we also cover northern Westchester. We do not service Long Island or New Jersey for most products due to dealer territory agreements.
How much does a commercial awning cost?
Commercial awning pricing depends on size, material, fabrication complexity, and installation requirements. A standard single storefront awning typically ranges from $1,500 to $6,000.
