Residential StruXure pergola projects typically start around $25,000 and scale depending on size, louver style, integrated technology (lighting, heating, audio), and installation complexity. Rooftop or high-rise installations carry additional costs for permitting and logistics. We provide detailed, transparent pricing during your free consultation โ no estimates over the phone until we’ve seen your space.
Do I need a permit for a pergola at my NYC home?
In most cases yes, especially for rooftop installations, attached structures, or anything requiring structural attachment to your building. NYC DOB permits, co-op board approvals, and condo association submissions can all be required. Capitol Awning handles all of this in-house โ it’s one of the main reasons our NYC clients choose us over contractors who can build the pergola but can’t navigate the approval process.
Can you install on a co-op or condo rooftop in NYC?
Yes โ and this is one of our specialties. We carry $5 million in insurance, which is required by most NYC co-op and condo boards before approving exterior installations. We’ve been through the board approval process many times and know what documentation is required. If you’re in a co-op or condo, we’ll guide you through the entire approval sequence before any work begins.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installations take two to four days on-site. For projects requiring NYC DOB permits or board approvals, the lead time from signed contract to installation is typically six to ten weeks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at your free consultation โ and we don’t start the permitting process until you’ve approved the design.
What areas do you serve for residential pergola projects?
We serve all five NYC boroughs and Westchester County for residential StruXure pergola installations. This includes Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island, and throughout Westchester. We do not service Long Island or New Jersey for StruXure pergola work due to dealer territory agreements.
